Coasters and Place Mats with images

For: beginners and ongoing students
Tutor: Liz Newnham

Course Outline

This one day workshop covers the basics of fusing and incorporates images that are permanently fired on to create decorative coasters and place mats. Students will make a set of 4 coasters and 1 place mat incorporating images. The addition of the images will be in sepia colour and achieved by using special decal paper with prepared images from our image bank. Students will be introduced to basic fusing techniques including: cutting glass, preparing the glass for the kiln, basic design and firing the glass. In addition students will be taught how to work with the slide decal paper to add images to their projects. Our images will be used in class, but students will be advised how to print their own images for future projects. All materials are included in this class.
