Come and visit our new studio space at Blue Dog Glass (27 Wells Rd, Mordialloc). As part of Craft Victoria’s Craft Cubed Festival, we’re running another of our popular come-and-make-it days. We’ll be open from 10am to 3pm on Sunday 6 August.
Be inspired by our student exhibition The Art of Glass on show in our foyer, then come into the workshop and make your own beautiful glass artwork. We’ll provide the materials and tools. Our staff and student artists will be on hand to offer help and guidance. You just need to bring your creativity and enthusiasm!
Screen print a coaster or mini plate. Learn how delicate glass works are crated and manipulated over a torch flame. Or cut and shape a glass design for fusing.
The first 20-minute make-it session is free – and if you choose to make some more, there’s just a small fee per extra session. Be sure you book your time so you don’t miss out.
As well as our make-it sessions, we’ll have some demonstrations happening. Watch glass beads being made in the torch flame, or glass ‘strings’ pulled straight from the vitrigraph kiln. See some of the skills used in making metal jewellery and a few advanced kilnforming techniques in action.
While you’re here you can also have a look around and see the inside workings of the glass studio – from the many kilns we use to the various grinding, polishing and finishing equipment used to create our students’ works of art.
For more information, phone the studio on 9580 7302 or send an email to info@bluedogglass.com.au.
