Kiln Formed Glass Level 2, 4 weeks

This class is open to students who have completed fusing and slumping level 1 and want to continue to improve their skills and expand their knowledge base under the guidance of a tutor. Students will continue to work on their own projects while each week a new topic is introduced giving them an opportunity to try new techniques. Screen Printing 101

In this workshop students will be introduced to screen printing on glass. Techniques covered will include: preparing screen using drawn images, photos and text, different paints for different applications, firing and how to use screen printing tools correctly for glass. Students have the opportunity to have an image that they work on in class printed onto glass.  All materials included. Scraptacular- Pot melts

Do you have a whole lot of scrap glass that you don't know what to do with? This workshop will cover how to create uniques pieces of glass using scrap. Class will cover how to prepare pots, load glass, calculate volume and firing schedules. Students will make up to three pot melts. Students will need to bring along scrap Bullseye Glass (available at Blue Dog Glass) Pots are provided. Suitable for beginners

Mould Making for Slumping

Learn how to make simple and effective slump moulds for fused glass. Create shapes that are unique and reusable in fired clay, fibre and Ceramaguard. We will guide you through modeling and firing clay to produce moulds that give your work a new dimension and allow you to produce glass that is truly unique. These moulds can be used repetitively and can be used for slumping, cabochon shapes and simple open face casting. Students will make 3 moulds to take…

Scraptacular- Damming sheet

Scraptacular- Stacking

Continuing on with our series of classes looking at how to use up scrap glass we have this workshop that investigates stacking strap and firing at high temperatures to create interesting sheets of glass that can be used for slumping or design features for other fused projects.  The new glass sheets will utilise heat, dilution and movement to make one-off creations. Bracelet Bending 2 weeks

Learn how to manipulate hot glass in the kiln to form solid fused glass bracelets. Students will be guided though the basics of kiln forming to produce blanks of glass suitable to then form over a mould to create bracelets. Students will make 2 finished bracelets and have a number of finished blanks to work on in their own studio practise. Scraptacular- wire melts

A great way to use up scrap glass is with a wire melt. Glass is suspended in the kiln on wire and allowed to drip onto the kiln shelf, creating amazing swirling patterns. Join us in this workshop to learn how to create beautiful sheets of glass using up all that scrap glass you have in the studio. Students need to bring scrap glass.

This class focuses on frit and powder, offering students new and interesting ways to explore, light, texture and pattern in their work. Some of the areas covered in this classes include: making wafers, frit tinting, drawing with powder, pattern making, textures and simple design elements that can be incorporated into other fusing projects.
