Welcome to the world of image making on glass! In this 3-day workshop, participants will learn various methods of creating images that can be transferred onto a screen and screen printed on glass. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience in glass or screen printing, this class offers a comprehensive introduction to the techniques and processes involved.
Over the course of the workshop, students will engage in hands-on activities and experimentation, resulting in a diverse range of tests and two finished small panels that incorporate fused glass. We will explore both digital and hand-drawn image creation, providing participants with a well-rounded understanding of the possibilities.
The class will cover essential topics such as utilising photo editing for image manipulation, alternative methods of image making without a computer, and preparing a silk screen in the dark room. Participants will learn how to expose their images onto the silk screen and gain practical knowledge of screen printing techniques. We will discuss suitable inks for glass printing and delve into the preparation of glass for the printing process.
Throughout the workshop, students will be encouraged to bring their own images and will receive guidance on selecting suitable images for screen printing.
This class is designed to accommodate beginners, and no prior experience in working with glass or screen printing is required. All necessary materials will be provided, ensuring a seamless learning experience. This class runs over 3 days, 4th, 5th and 6th March
