About Kristin

Since becoming a glass artist my practice has focused on transferring design elements into glass. This interest stems from my background as a graphic designer working in the music and advertising industries. After several years of working at a computer I discovered I wanted more than setting type and designing album covers and returned to Monash University to complete a Graduate Diploma and Masters of Fine Arts.

An interest in photography and experimentation with a variety of printing methods, especially screenprinting, enabled me to start working more artistically through the medium of kiln formed glass.

My work with glass now also incorporates botanical specimens and encaustic painting. I enjoy using delicate materials to create multi-layered works with complex interiors that explore memory, fragility and strength.

I have recently moved to Kalorama in the Dandenong Ranges and am enjoying the views, kookaburras and renovating a mid-century home.
