Images and Casting – the image within

Learn the techniques of incorporating images into cast glass pieces in this 6 day class. We will explore two casting methods: open face and lost wax. Through a process of precasting elements, image incorporation, reinvestment, and refiring, you will create solid cast glass pieces with images seamlessly integrated beneath the glass surface. During the course, you will produce two pieces, with a strong emphasis on mastering the technical aspects. To craft the images for casting, we will employ screen printing, powder printing, powders, and decals. While prior experience in glass casting is beneficial, a minimum of 12 months of working with glass is recommended. If you are unsure if this class suits your skill level, please contact us.
