From humble beginnings in a leaky warehouse, Blue Dog Glass has blossomed into a vibrant hub of creativity. To celebrate the move to spacious new premises with dedicated teaching studio and showroom, there will be Demonstrations, Student Exhibition and Sale in our Store between 10am and 4pm on Saturday November 10th.
In our showroom we will be reducing prices on almost everything and to celebrate our new home we will be giving away a kiln or a class.. yes a kiln or class.
For every $200 spent on the sale day customers will receive a ticket for a draw to select either a Paragon Firefly kiln or a place in David Hobday’s class (inc glass). Both valued at $770. The draw will be held at 3.45pm on sale day.
The lucky winner of the raffle gets to select from the following;
Firefly kiln, valued at $770
The portable and convenient Paragon FireFly will give you unbridled freedom. It plugs in almost anywhere on a household 10 amp outlet.
You will never outgrow a small kiln. If you later buy a larger kiln, continue to use the small one for testing or small projects. Perfect a new design in the small kiln before running production quantities in the large kiln. A small test kiln is invaluable in solving ceramic glaze problems. kiln size; 203 x 203 x 114 mm
David Hobday course and $120 glass voucher, total value $770
Sheet glass 15% off
Moulds 20% off
Frit 20% off
Full sheets of streakies, mardi gras, streamers, fracture and chopstix 20% off
Billets 20%
All stock (except kilns) in the store will be reduced by 10%
So come in and pick up a bargain and go into the draw for the kiln or workshop. To receive the discounts and to go into the draw for the prize, interstate and regional customers can phone through or email their orders.
Loyalty cards do not apply on sale items. No rainchecks. Prize is only on stock sales, not on student work. Prize is not redeemable for cash. Freight (if required) is at the cost of the winner.
Blue Dog Glass provides supplies and classes to all those interested in working creatively with glass and a kiln – the results vary from exquisite jewellery to large platters and free-standing sculptures – all hand-made from glass. The students who come together at Blue Dog Glass come from all over the Melbourne area and despite a wide variety of personalities and circumstances, are united in a love of making things from glass.
As part of the student exhibition, works will be offered for sale and artists will be on hand to discuss techniques and the inspiration behind the work.
This is a great opportunity to pick up a unique Christmas present for your artistic friends or add a signature piece to your home before the party season gets in swing! Please note : sales are CASH ONLY for the student works – so come prepared.
There will be demonstrations of glass work through out the day – see how beads are made, drilling and engraving glass, or how high temperatures changes the shape of glass in minutes.
